THE AUDACITY THAT IS CAUCACITY!

OBLIVIOUS.

The internet causes us to be bold in many ways. It’s gives us an outlet, a voice, and the ability to create.

It’s also enriches us with a lot of audacity, especially when it comes to social media.

And as of late it seems my caucasian folks seemed to be doing things online without any backstory to the content they are creating.

Which brings us to the term CAUCACITY! What does it mean???

Simple, it's white people boldly doing things while being oblivious to it's context.

Obviously this is nothing new and let's stick to the subject of popular culture.

You many not remember, but back in the day day there was the singer Pat Boone.

His early success was recording R&B songs for the white market, cause it was 1955 and an idea like that somehow made sense. Bottom line, that's straight up caucacity. G-d forbid they play the original version from the legendary Fats Domino to white folks.

Now let's fast forward to 2020 and hip-hop has replaced rock music in the mainstream. It only makes sense that caucasians have adopted more non-white culture into their personalities/lifestyle.

Of course this bring us to TikTok. First with Lil Nas X using the platform to push his country rap single "Old Town Road" which Billboard felt it needed to remove from it's Hot Country Songs chart because they didn't think it was country enough. That act of caucacity turned into controversy and was just dumb. Watch Ken Burns's Country Music documentary and the first thing they all mention is that the origins of country music is highly influenced by early African-Amercian blues musicians.

Now when it comes to individual posts on TikTok people just get down right blunt. Hip-hop/Rap/Trap music dominates the social site in America and as people do :15-60 second dance routines, they don't seem to care about the subject of the songs or lyrical content.

Who knows how long they spend doing dance routines not realizing the references being made to sex, drugs, violence, and weapons. Now I'm not saying this needs to be censored, but there are plenty of caucasians dancing and singing to these songs online with the straight up caucacity/oblivion to the subject matter.

I won't post any TikTok clips here but go onto to the app and spend like 20 mins just on Megan Thee Stallion hit songs and you'll see what I'm talking about.
